This month’s topic is: MAKING A BETTER FUTURE IN THE AGE OF HUMANS

The guest speaker is Erle C. Ellis, Professor of Geography and Environmental Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Dr. Ellis is the author of “Anthropocene: A Very Short Introduction.” He studies the ecology of human landscapes and their global changes.

No one wants the hotter, more polluted and less biodiverse planet we are now making in the Anthropocene, the age of humans. Yet no natural or technological limit ultimately prevents us from creating a better future. When we work together, across our social and cultural divides, we humans are a force of nature.

It’s time to start talking about the better future we want, and less about the future we don’t. The planet we make will reflect the people we are.

The Earth Forum is open to all interested persons and is free. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers—call 410-730-3545 for more information.
