Various Locations
Garden tours featuring native, pollinator-friendly landscaping will be offered this summer and fall in neighborhoods around Howard County.
Tours will run through September. Each tour date will include three gardens, and most tours will be self-guided, demonstrating how local gardeners are helping to support native pollinator conservation.
The first 55 visitors to each home will be eligible to pick up a free pollinator plant, and all attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a tree or shrub!
This project is possible due to a Community Engagement and Restoration Mini Grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust, matching funds from Howard County Bee City, and additional support from the Community Ecology Institute, Howard EcoWorks, and Lauren’s Garden Service. The grant is sponsored by the Kings Contrivance Community Association, and is led and organized by Howard County volunteer Master Gardeners & Watershed Stewards Kate Reilly, Nancy Klein, and Susan Tucker.
Landscaping tour dates (check the event website for specific locations and details):
Sept 6, 10-12 pm, Ellicott City West & Ellicott City Centennial
Sept 27, 10-12 pm, Laurel
