Native meadows provide vital habitat for pollinators and birds, improve soil and water health, and require less maintenance than turf. A University of Maryland Extension expert will teach how to establish a successful native meadow—from site preparation and seed selection to planting techniques and weed management. Participants will learn how to foster a thriving, self-sustaining landscape that benefits both people and nature. After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to walk to the meadow restoration project at Mt. Pleasant. Hosted by the Howard County Conservancy.
