Learn how to extend the life of a favorite garment at the Howard County Library System’s Clothing Repair Clinic. Get one-on-one guidance on basic repair and alteration techniques such as:
- sewing on buttons
- fixing seams
- patching holes
- hemming
- mending leather straps
- replacing snaps and rivets
Bring a piece of clothing that needs repair – basic supplies like thread will be provided.
Registration is recommended! All participants will need to check-in on site, and will be seen in order of arrival.
Participants are limited to one item to be repaired. You are welcome to join the line again with a second item that will be looked at if there is time. If an item cannot be repaired, we will make recommendations for alternative options.
