Learn practical steps the faith community can take to protect and restore the health of our shared watershed.
Guest Speakers:
Madeline Potter is a Faculty Specialist in Entomology and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) with the University of Maryland Extension (UME) Home and Garden Information Center. In this role, she educates the public and provides training to UME faculty and staff on insect conservation, sustainable pest management, climate-resilient landscapes, and related topics. With a background in entomology and sustainable horticulture, along with extensive teaching and outreach experience, she provides green industry professionals, educators, and the public with science-based strategies to manage pests while fostering resilient ecosystems.
Ebony Jenkins PhD is an Eastern Shore native. She has a love for entomology. Her fascination with honeybees and local honey drew her to learn about other insects. She has a Ph.D. in Food and Agricultural Science. Her doctoral research was featured in a PBS NOVA documentary about edible insects. She has taught elementary school children about the correlation between insects and our food, while assisting them in rearing crickets through their life cycle.
These webinars are supplemental to IPC’s Faithful Green Leaders Training Program.
