James & Anne Robinson Foundation

The Robin­son Foundation’s pri­mary mis­sion is to sup­port Howard County Depart­ment of Recre­ation and Park’s new Robin­son Nature Cen­ter. The mis­sion of the Robin­son Nature Cen­ter is to bring peo­ple together with nature, to learn, to expe­ri­ence nature and the envi­ron­ment around them, and to pro­mote an ethic of stew­ard­ship of the land.

The Foun­da­tion also spon­sors a wide range of envi­ron­men­tal events and sup­ports ini­tia­tives of other envi­ron­men­tal, edu­ca­tional, and com­mu­nity groups that share our com­mit­ment to con­nect­ing peo­ple with the outdoors.

ACTIVITIES

In addi­tion to build­ing a Friends group for the Robin­son Nature Cen­ter, the Foun­da­tion also:

  • Sup­ports com­mu­nity and non-profit ini­tia­tives that are in keep­ing with the Foundation’s mission.
  • Rec­og­nizes com­mu­nity and edu­ca­tional lead­er­ship through the Green Foot Print Awards Pro­gram.  This award is given to an indi­vid­ual or orga­ni­za­tion that has demon­strated a com­mit­ment to pre­serv­ing the nat­ural environment.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Vol­un­teers can become involved in activ­i­ties with the Robin­son Nature Cen­ter by help­ing to develop a Friends group for the Nature Cen­ter or by becom­ing involved in other vol­un­teer oppor­tu­ni­ties with the Robin­son Foun­da­tion.  This could include short-term projects, intern­ships, occa­sional office tasks, or assist­ing with spe­cial events.  For more infor­ma­tion, please con­tact the Foun­da­tion at info@robinsonfoundation.org.
