Friends of Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway (FPVHG) is dedicated to preserving, protecting, interpreting and restoring the environment, history and heritage of the Patapsco River Valley. FPVHG participates in a wide variety of state and county planning activities and is actively involved in sponsoring stream/river cleanups, tree plantings, invasive plant removal, water quality education, historic preservation, as well as developing additional educational materials about the environment and the history of the Patapsco River Valley.
ACTIVITIES
- Patapsco Valley Management Plan — FPVHG is developing a management plan for the Patapsco Valley. They have an advisory committee on topics such as Management/Financial, Education, Environment, Fundraising, History, Land Use, Membership, Public Relations, Recreation and Events, and Trails.
- Outdoor Opportunities — FPVHC provides guided kayak rides, bike rides, bird-watching hikes, and history talks.
- Environmental Education — FPVHG provides educational opportunities such as hands-on education, stream watch training, stream captain training, watershed educational hikes, water quality evaluation, storm drain stenciling and rain barrel workshops.
