Friends of Pat­ap­sco Val­ley and Her­itage Green­way (FPVHG) is ded­i­cated to pre­serv­ing, pro­tect­ing, inter­pret­ing and restor­ing the envi­ron­ment, his­tory and her­itage of the Pat­ap­sco River Val­ley.  FPVHG par­tic­i­pates in a wide vari­ety of state and county plan­ning activ­i­ties and is actively involved in spon­sor­ing stream/river cleanups, tree plant­i­ngs, inva­sive plant removal, water qual­ity edu­ca­tion, his­toric preser­va­tion, as well as devel­op­ing addi­tional edu­ca­tional mate­ri­als about the envi­ron­ment and the his­tory of the Pat­ap­sco River Valley.

ACTIVITIES

• Pat­ap­sco Val­ley Man­age­ment Plan — FPVHG is devel­op­ing a man­age­ment plan for the Pat­ap­sco Val­ley.  They have an advi­sory com­mit­tee on top­ics such as Management/Financial, Edu­ca­tion, Envi­ron­ment, Fundrais­ing, His­tory, Land Use, Mem­ber­ship, Pub­lic Rela­tions, Recre­ation and Events, and Trails.
• Out­door Oppor­tu­ni­ties — FPVHC pro­vides guided kayak rides, bike rides, bird-watching hikes, and his­tory talks.
• Envi­ron­men­tal Edu­ca­tion — FPVHG pro­vides edu­ca­tional oppor­tu­ni­ties such as hands-on edu­ca­tion, stream watch train­ing, stream cap­tain train­ing, water­shed edu­ca­tional hikes, water qual­ity eval­u­a­tion, storm drain sten­cil­ing and rain bar­rel workshops.
