Green Drinks in Columbia

A group of environmental professionals and representatives from companies in the process of “going green” have been meeting for an event called Green Drinks for most of 2012. The group meets every other month, usually on the second Tuesday. The next event will be March 12.

They will meet at Union Jacks in Columbia from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, in the bar or pool room area. All are welcome to attend. There is generally no cost to join the event, but guests will purchase their own drinks. Light appetizers are provided, usually pizza.

And there are sponsorship opportunities. Sponsors may set up a display or information table, and will be provided an opportunity to speak briefly about their company. They may also bring as many people as they like to the event. The cost of sponsorship is $250.

Join us every other month. To join our mailing list, follow the instructions at the bottom of this blog. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, and to relax in good company. Join us on March 12. Look for the banner with the Howard County Green Business Council logo.

This event is hosted by the Howard County Green Business Council (HCGBC).

What people say about Columbia Green Drinks:

During the HCGBC Green Drinks event last night, I had the opportunity to meet a new member who is President of a business that is complimentary to mine. We exchanged information and initiated the possibility for cross referrals. I also learned that he has a very similar “sustainable” philosophy in how to manage field staff, which is always great to hear. Green businesses tend to challenge the status quo in this way and it was great to compare notes. On top of all that – I am a customer of this business and was therefore able to give him direct feedback about how his business ethic and staff management created a great customer experience. Who doesn’t love that?!”

At the last HCGBC Green Happy Hour I met someone who works at a company that recently posted a job opening that was of great interest. This person facilitated an introduction to the hiring manger, which really helped me stand out from the crowd of other applicants. I couldn’t ask for a better networking opportunity. Thank you HCGBC!”
