What’s Next? Imagining the Next Twenty Years of Environmental Stewardship

October 15, 2017 @ 2:00 am - 4:00 pm

October 15, 2017
2:00 am - 4:00 pm

First Presbyterian Church
9325 Presbyterian Circle
Columbia, MD 21045 United States

How shall we protect and restore the earth for its own sake, and for future use and enjoyment of its beauty and fruitfulness? This question is not only about policy-making, but also about lifestyle choices, and about whose voices are heard.

Can we imagine what we can accomplish in the next twenty years? And can we sketch out what it will take from each of us, and from our communities to be effective stewards?

Come be part of a discussion about the choices before us, and the future we need to imagine together. A panel of guests will get us thinking, encourage our conversation, and perhaps help us find a little clarity in what seems like an overwhelming challenge these days. Panelists include regional and national environmental planners, educators, advocates, and policy developers.

One of the Emphasis Action groups will be a Tree Planting Workshop offered by the Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake – part of the Trees for Sacred Places. Learn about native species, how to plant and care for newly planted trees, and how trees contribute to the health of air and water.

The Earth Forum is hosted by the First Presbyterian Church of Howard County, 9325 Presbyterian Circle, Columbia, MD  21045.  Free and open to all interested persons, contact earthforum@firstpreshc.org, call 410−730−3545 (church office), or see  the Facebook page.
